Exquisitely decorated with scrolling flowers and foliage, this stunning plate from Burleigh adds classic style to your tabletop. Made from durable earthenware, this piece is dishwasher and microwave safe—perfect for both daily use and special occasions.
Calico was first added to the Burleigh pattern book in 1968 and has been in production ever since. With every piece of Blue Calico made by hand in the heart of The Potteries, it’s inspired by 19th-century indigo fabric.
Each piece of Burleigh pottery has been made in Burslem, England since 1889 using traditional techniques that have been passed down for 170 years. Each piece of Burleigh pottery runs through their rigorous quality checks, and if there are no faults, it goes to be decorated in Burleigh’s famous Transferring Printing Shop. Burleigh Pottery is now the last English pottery company that continues this traditional and highly skilled hand decorating process. This process was once widely used in the pottery industry, but Burleigh is now the last remaining potbank to use this highly skilled technique, making Burleigh pottery highly prized around the world.
