Utilizing the same technique that kept butter fresh before refrigeration, Le Creuset's butter crock immerses the butter in water, allowing you to always have soft, spreadable butter on hand. Made from dense, nonporous stoneware that blocks moisture absorption for exceptional strength, then finished with a vibrant glaze that resists stains and scratches from metal utensils and makes for easy cleanup.

To use: pack the cup on the underside of the lid with butter, then fill the crock one-third of the way up with cold water. Invert the lid/cup into the water, creating an air-tight seal. When you're ready to spread, open the lid and set it on its wide, flat knob. Change the water every few days for best results.
