Each piece is hand-carved from locally sourced olivewood, carefully sanded for a smooth finish, and polished to reveal the wood's natural beauty. The short handles are made of bone—a recycled by-product of the local meat industry—and engraved using a traditional wax technique, which makes gripping easy.

Founded in 2019, Siafu was named after the Swahili word for “ant” as a shoutout to all the women who lift ten times their weight in a community.
